We have been live streaming our story time and sending replay links for our music movement sessions for three weeks now!

As of January 2020, we are the only early childhood service in Eastwood to have twice been rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards in all 7 Areas!

In fact, as of May 2020, we are one of only 73 centres from over 5500 centres across NSW to have been rated Exceeding all 7 quality areas twice.

We have been rated EXCEEDING again!

Numeracy and Counting Seeds

Early this term some of the children picked some tomatoes from our vegetable garden and were very interested in the seeds inside. This led to counting the seeds and then exploring a range of fruit to predict if the fruit would have one seed or many seeds.

Our Basic Routine

At St. George's we like to be flexible and we change the way our day operates according to the children, their interests and the flow of their play. But we also have a routine which takes into account sunsafe practices, staff to child ratios and times for active play and rest and relaxation.

This is what our basic routine looks like:

Winter Routine. (Terms Two and Three)  

(Thurs/Fri 8am to 9am Variety of table and floor activities in hall) 

9am-10.45am to   Indoor Activities  

10.45am  Pack away indoors with children.  

10.45 am - 11.30am Morning tea outside at tables when chn choose.

                   (If morning tea is indoors, 10.15am - 11am)

10.45am-12.20pm - Outdoor activities  

12.20pm -12.30pm - Pack away outdoors with children  

12.30pm - 12.55pm grouptime  

12.55pm - 1pm Handwashing  

1pm - Lunch  

1.20pm -1.40pm - Quiet activities on carpet/finish of lunch  

1.40pm - 2.10 pm Variety of activities according to childrens rest needs:

                             Quiet activities on carpet/tables,

                             Activities in hall according to childrens interests.  

210pm-2.15 pm - Pack away beds, toys etc  

2.15pm - 2.45 pm Music activities  

2.45pm -3pm books on carpet area

(Thurs/Fri 3pm -3.30pm Floor activities/book reading in hall)
